I have Finished Objects!
Where has the summer gone? I really can't believe that it's been almost a month (again) since I last wrote. I got a lot done and have a ton of pics I could post, so let's get going...OK, those of you who have knit one of these, know what it is. How about anyone else?
If you guessed the Elizabeth Zimmerman Baby Surprise Jacket, you would be correct! I think this little sweater is pure genius; knit all in one piece, two little folds and two little seams and a sweater is born! In this picture, I still needed to sew up the seams and add the buttons, but it is finished.Even more genius is that it cost me under $1.00 to make. I used 2 skeins of Classic Elite London Tweed that I got at the thrift store for $.34 each (the $10.50 price tags were still attached), plus a card of 6 buttons for $.25 at Joanns.
Next up is another pair of socks for B. Made out of Lana Grossa Numero Uno Fancy; a worsted weight yarn on US size 3 needles. Just a simple 2x2 rib and reinforced toes and heels, he loves him some wool socks when he's snowmobiling.For the Twin Cities folks, this yarn has been marked down to 75% off at the Needlework Unlimited Outlet. If I remember right, it's $1.75 per ball and 3 balls makes an adult pair of socks and one pair of Magic 28 socks.
I also finished a scarf for myself (I think). The colors are to die for and I think this picture is pretty close. The yarn is Crystal Palace Musique, a thick and thin yarn (45% acrylic, 40% wool and 15% cotton) worked up on US 10.5 needles.
When I went out to take the picture of the scarf, this little red breasted nuthatch was scoring some breakfast. He let me get almost 2 feet from him to take this picture and I think it was the camera flash that scared him. I don't know why my camera is set to automatic flash, I keep trying to reset it,but I didn't want to fumble and scare him off, so flash it was... Maybe I should look at the instruction book?
