DecemberFest and Heel Flaps
Now that my Christmas knitting is done, I started my Sock- toberfest socks again. I'm at the same point I was before ripping them out. This time, I'm using the Cable Twist pattern and switched up to US 1.5 (2.5mm) needles and they fit much better. I'm still loving the yarn and the way it patterns... Or rather, the way it doesn't pattern.
I always have a sock-to-go in my purse, and a child's sock in progress in addition to the sock I'm working on for myself (Sock A.D.D. perhaps?) and all of a sudden, I was at the heel flap on all three socks at the same time! That's never happened to me before. My least favorite part of knitting socks is picking up the gusset stitches, so now I have to do that on three socks at the same time. I picked up the stitches on two of the socks and will have the third one done tonight.
I finished my Wildefoot Columbine Cable Twist socks. I gifted them to a friend I work with, we do a Secret Santa swap each year and this year Becki and I got each other's names. She skis, so I hope she'll like them to wear for skiing or Apres Ski. She said they fit and she loves them (YAY).
On a non-knitting note... I've been playing with polymer clay and made myself a light switch cover for the front bedroom. I think it turned out quite nice, if I do say so myself! I still want to make one for the back bedroom and kitchen.
And, finally, a shot of some more caps and socks for the Dulaan project. I've finished more since this picture. I'm at 22 hats and 5 pairs of socks, almost 6 pairs, I'm working on the second sock of the sixth pair.
